Stop & Shop Opens Same-Day Pick-Up & Delivery In Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — Stop & Shop is offering same-day online pick-up and delivery for Peapod orders at select Connecticut locations. Now available at the Naugatuck store located at 727 Rubber Ave., customers in the area can place their orders online and pick them up at the store from the comfort of their car, officials announced this week.

Officials said that supply may be limited for specific items that are on national allocation and may not be available for purchase. Two item purchase limits are also still in place for certain high-demand items.

Customers can place their orders via www.peapod.com by selecting "Pickup" at their nearby store location. Customers can then head to the store at their chosen pick-up time, park in a designated pick-up spot, and call a phone number to let the store team know they have arrived. A Stop & Shop team member will then deliver the order right to the customer's vehicle.

"We've altered our pickup policies with associate and customer safety in mind," according to a news release. "Please have your trunk or door open for the associate to place bags directly in your vehicle. At our stores where alcohol purchase is permitted, we ask that you have your ID ready for verification.

"Our associates will be wearing masks while working and are following all of the same sanitizing precautions as our in-store associates, including surface sanitization and regular hand washing every 20-30 minutes. We also encourage our customers to wear masks and limit the number of people in their vehicle, when possible, to better enable social distancing."
