NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck High School was dismissed early on Wednesday after a student tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple reports including WTNH News 8.

WTNH reports the student, a senior who doesn’t ride the bus and is assigned to in-person learning on Tuesdays and Thursdays, was last in the building on Tuesday. The school was being dismissed at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

The school is closed and all Naugatuck High School students will participate in distance learning from home until further notice, according to WTNH.

NBC Connecticut reports the school is working with the Naugatuck Valley Health Department and contact tracing is underway.

The school will undergo a deep cleaning and officials believe it could reopen within two to five days, according to NBC Connecticut.
