Summer Concert Series Continues with The Rakes

Naugatuck, CT - The third Concert of the Green of the 2019 Summer Concert Series was indeed presented on the Naugatuck Green. The weather cooperated for the first time this season so that the concert did not have to be moved indoors to the Davis Auditorium at Naugatuck High School.

The Tuesday night concert was changed to The Rake, who played a great mixture of everything from Johnny Cash to Zac Brown Band. I heard a little bit of the Beatles as well.

Stay tuned for the new date for group originally scheduled for tonight, The Maestro's Men. Polka Night on the Green will happen at a later date.

Many music lovers came out despite the change in bands, bringing along food or grabbing some great picnic food served by the Knights of Columbus and a soft drink from the Naugatuck Community Choir table. An ice cream truck was also parked nearby.

I got a hug from Nathaniel Zembruski, the host of the Zembruski Polka Hour that is broadcast every Sunday morning on 1320 WATR. I also got to catch up with Knights of Columbus member Jeff Bingham and his wife, and the best camera man ever, Anthony Purcaro.
