WATERBURY – The Palace Theater invites the community to Summer Vibes: CoffeeHouse, our inaugural Open Mic Night on July 22 from 7- 10pm in the Poli Club.

Do you have talent? Sing, dance, play an instrument, recite poetry, do some stand-up comedy, or even wow the audience with some magic. Our Coffeehouse is intended to be an inclusive event that forges connections between musicians, singers, poets, comedians, storytellers and an enthusiastic audience. Organized by the theater’s newly formed AD HOC Committee the stated goa for the event is: “to foster creativity and build a community where participants have an opportunity to try out new material in a supportive and open environment”. The featured artist of the evening is Touré Richardson, an up-and-coming singer/musician from Waterbury who’s been singing and performing for most of his life. After attending Waterbury Arts Magnet School and Western Connecticut State University, he’s honed in on his own special sound/technique. Touré aspires to be a successful and recognized artist worldwide where his voice and music can really make a difference for people.

The evening is hosted by Fly Ry. Ryan "Fly Ry" Hendricks of the North End in Waterbury has competed at the National Poetry Slam as well as hosted his own events like PoHooketry and The Community Vibes Block Party.
