SUV Slams Into Waterbury Restaurant; Driver Shot, Killed: Report

Police are investigating a homicide in Waterbury in which a driver crashed into a restaurant early Friday morning.

WATERBURY, CT — Police are investigating after an SUV driver was shot and crashed into a Waterbury restaurant early Friday morning, WTNH News-8 reported. Police responded to a shots-fired call at 2 a.m. near North Main Street and East Farms Street.

Officers arrived to find an SUV had slammed into Ingapirca Ecuadorian Restaurant at 807 North Main St. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, WTNH News-8 reported. His identity has not been released.

Crews removed the SUV from the restaurant and began an investigation. It's unclear if the restaurant will be open for business and how long it will take to restore the damaged building, according to FOX-61.
