Teachers Credit Union Donation Funds 4,000 Meals
On behalf of the over 19,000 members of the Waterbury CT Teachers Federal Credit Union, a donation has been made by the Board of Directors.

WATERBURY, CT - Teachers and Administrators are acutely aware of Connecticut’s food insecurity problem. They see it daily, among their students. Thousands of CT students depend upon meals received in school, and have struggled with food insecurity as remote learning has replaced their in-school experience. The 2020 increase in unemployment, as well as COVID-19’s impact on health, have expanded CT’s food insecurity issues.
On behalf of the over 19,000 members of the Waterbury CT Teachers Federal Credit Union, a donation has been made by the Board of Directors, in an amount that will fund 4,000 meals for Connecticut residents in need.
“This is an opportune time to make our donation. Because a generous, anonymous donor has enabled CT Food Bank to extend the value of all the donations received right now; all monetary donations can now go further, and help more of those in need.” said Pete McCasland, Board Chairman of the Teachers Credit Union, and Building Principal, West Side Middle School, Waterbury.
