Teen, 14, Identified as Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Route 8 in Naugatuck: UPDATE
State police released the identities of those involved in the fatal accident, which occurred last week on Route 8.

NAUGATUCK, CT — State police say a Southington teen, 14, died as a result of injuries after being struck by two vehicles on Route 8 last week.
State police spokeswoman Kelly Grant said that at 5:33 p.m. on Dec. 22 Troop I in Bethany responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 South in the area of Exit 27 in Naugatuck.
Upon arrival, a pedestrian, who was identified as Michael Shore, 14, of West Center Street in Southington, was found to have been struck by a vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 8, state police said.

After the initial impact, the pedestrian was struck by an additional vehicle traveling on the southbound side of Route 8, state police said.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, state police said. No further injuries were sustained by either involved driver. The next of kin to the deceased was notified following the collision.

The case remains active and under investigation. Any witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Troop I in Bethany at 203-393-4200.
State Police said the driver of the first vehicle was Jonathan Lesser, 34, of Burlington, Connecticut, and the driver of the second vehicle was Mia Ortega, 35, of Bridgeport.
