WATERBURY, CT — A teenager is seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash involving an SUV and a garbage truck in Waterbury early Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.
The crash occurred around 4:13 a.m., when the SUV and the garbage truck collided near North Main Street and Lakewood Road, according to the Hartford Courant.
Some of the SUV's occupants fled the scene before police arrived, while police had to extricate one of them — the teenager — from the vehicle, WFSB reported.

After being extricated, the teenager was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the outlet.
