Teen On Moped Seriously Injured In Waterbury Crash: Police
The moped and a pickup truck collided Tuesday evening, according to police.
WATERBURY, CT — An 18-year-old moped operator is hospitalized after an accident with a pickup truck Tuesday night, according to police.
While the moped operator was initially in critical condition, police said Wednesday afternoon the man’s condition is now “stable.”
Police Sgt. Joseph Morais said the accident happened around 6:51 p.m. in the 1000 block of Meriden Road.

A pickup truck driver was attempting to turn into a private driveway when it collided with the moped, according to Morais.
The moped operator, a Waterbury man, received serious internal injuries and was taken to a local area hospital for emergency treatment.

The pickup driver, a 65-year-old Cheshire resident, was not injured.
The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the accident.
