Teens Caught With Stolen Vehicle: Naugatuck Police

Two teens, ages 17 and 15, were seen running from a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning, according to police.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” Two teenaged boys, ages 17 and 15, were arrested after police said they were seen running from a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning in Naugatuck. Police responded to the area of Valley Drive around 1 a.m. on the report of a suspicious vehicle with no head lamps and the occupants were seen getting in and out of the vehicle, according to officials.

Arriving officers saw the suspect vehicle, which β€œaccelerated away from the area and was located several moments later in the back yard of a residence on Cotton Hollow Road with multiple occupants fleeing the vehicle on foot,” according to police.

Police determined the vehicle, a brown 2014 Honda CRV, was stolen out of East Haven. Police searched the area and, with the assistance of Connecticut State Police, the two teens were taken into custody on Route 8 in the area of Cross Street, according to officials.

The teens were each charged with second-degree criminal trover, second-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief. They were each released on a promise to appear in court.

Police said the incident is consistent with car break-ins and they believe additional suspects were involved.
