Superintendent of Schools Sharon Locke received this message from Carissa Roman via email and shared it with the NPS teachers and staff on March 25.

Good Morning!

I just wanted to take a minute and tell you how awesome you and team are! In one week, you were able to assess, plan, and deploy a program to ensure our kids don't fall behind. This not only shows the skill and professionalism of the teachers but their PASSION. They want to do what’s best for the kids regardless of what is being thrown at them. I am sure the logistics of all this was more than we can imagine (school lunches, internet access, virtual lesson planning, etc)

When this is all done, hopefully we can have a town block party to reunite the kids and teachers. I am sure they are all missing their hugs!

Again, thank you and your team for rolling this out, being available to help us, and loving our kids!

(but I am sure I can speak for all the parents!)
