Summer Theatre Workshop at Seven Angels Continues Through Aug. 9
There is still time to sign up for an upcoming week of the Summer Theatre Workshops at Seven Angels.

Seven Angels Summer Theatre Workshops continues to run at the theater through Aug. 19. At the end of each week of the camp, the young performers who have participated put on a performance for family and friends.
This week the workshope teachers worked with the participants on a variety of acting exercises, music styles and dance techniques. Dan Sarnelli is the acting teacher, Shannon Courtney Denihan taught dance and Clio “CJ” Janis was in charge of music instruction. Peter M. Kershaw also worked with the staff.
The participants are divided into two groups, based upon their age and both groups shared what they had learned in acting, music and dance during the week. The groups combine at the end of the performance to present scenes and musical numbers from a Broadway musical, this week the Broadway fable “Guys and Dolls.”

After introducing themselves, the younger performers in Group A, demonstrated the improv games of “Museum” and “Cross the stage as if.” They then broke into song to present a great medley of songs made famous by the rock band Queen, and then showed off their dance skills, complete with tap dancing, with “Never Had a Friend Like Me.”
The older students in Group B began their portion of the program with a game of “Yes/No Scenes,” followed by a medley of 90’s power groups. Then Denihan put them through their paces with the challenging opening number of “A Chorus Line,” “I Hope I Get It.”

Enjoy The Summer Theatre Workshop Fun!
Choose as many weeks as you would like! ABOUT THE PROGRAM-Our workshops use theatre arts to build confidence, self-esteem and teamwork, encouraging creativity and imagination. Participants learn to work cooperatively with each other and with professional staff – right in the theater. The classes are in a safe supervised environment with professional instructors. Each week a presentation is performed for family and friends based on what the students have been studying during the week.
The presentation achieves the same experience of speaking and performing confidently in public. Each student is able to perform at their own comfort level, allowing them to grow and gain confidence each week without being locked into a show. Eliminating a production allows the teachers to focus more attention and training on each individual student.
We welcome everyone to come join us this summer. It is not necessary for a student to have any experience in the arts to come to the workshops.FACULTY-All teachers are professionals in the arts who also have experience in working with and teaching young people.
