Theater Review: 'Igor's Revenge' by Seven Angels Children's Theatre
Come see this nutty bunch of monsters sing and dance and do just about everything except scare people. Tickets only $10.

Seven Angels Children’s Theatre is presenting a fun production of “Igor’s Revenge!!,” an original musical by Scott Kealey, who also directed the show. Previous shows presented by this group include “Goldilocks,” “Tom Sawyer,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” and “Dracula’s Fright Night.”
Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy and The Werewolf come back on Halloween Night to haunt the people of….Pennsylvania!!! The only trouble is, it was supposed to be Transylvania! And to make matters worse, Igor thinks he should be in charge.
Expect Halloween decoration at the entrance to the theater, as well as tombstones and hanging branches on the stage. Katerina Paul was the carpenter for the scenery. Music Director Clio Janis provided some great tracks for the singers to follow. “Whatever Igor Wants” is sung to the tune of “Whatever Lola Wants.”

Nick Bates was in charge of the excellent choreography and shows off his dancing skills as the Werewolf in a great costume and superb makeup and hair. There are several big dance numbers that feature the young people.
Zoe Kindt gets to sing a wonderful solo in her role as Mummy. Kealey appears onstage in the role of Frankenstein, almost herding the performers as best he can.

Nate Riccio plays Nate, Kai Plourde plays the role of Kai and Blake Pereira, well, plays Blake, all of whom are trick-or-treaters. Carter Effrece is very cute in the role of lovesick Jack and Hanalei Cocchiola shines as Lena. Kaelan Doyle plays Kay and Daniella Varrone is Dani.

Two members of The Golden Years Theatre Company’s production of “Grease” take to the Seven Angels stage and almost steal the show. Rick Dufresne (“Roger” in “Grease”) takes on the title role of Igor and is a delight. Kathy Miller (“Jan” in “Grease”) plays Mrs. Igor with great comic timing, making the role her own in a spectacular costume.
Lighting board operator Geno Bascetta (with lighting design by Jimmy Donohue) takes to the stage for a bit to dance as well. Sound engineer Peter Kershaw has a voice cameo.
The costumes designed by Sherie Cocchiola are quite charming across the board, but the zombies’ costumes just about steal the show. Kudos to the young zombie performers that include Kaleia Horton Blake, Nadira White, Aliza Cocchiola, Lily Tranquillo and Yoadniel Vincent.
The zombies throw candy into the audience during their first entrance, so watch out for flying eyeballs. The musical is presented without intermission and runs about 41 minutes. It is family-friendly and just a tiny bit scary.
Remaining performances are Saturday, October 14 at 2pm and Sunday, October 15 at 10:30am
