Ok β being Tuesday β weβre are all set up and ready to rip with another segment of the βTOO BAD TUESDAY β WEEK IN REVIEWβ β¦ I will cover it in a quick rundown of some of the past weeks arrests here in the Boroughβ¦
Before beginning though, I of course must put out my weekly disclaimer:
βAll persons in these segments are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and that we reserve the right to change the names of those involved (if names are used at all) to protect the innocentβ ... (And, again- yes - this disclaimer is a combination of the one used from the show βCopsβ and i think the one from βOne Adam 12β!!)

β¦so β Here it is they are β the TOO BAD TUESDAY β WEEK OF ARRESTS REVIEW:
On Wednesday October 28th Officer Jullian located Mr. Tavares Moss at his residence in Lantern Park β¦ Mr. Moss had an active arrest warrant from this agency for larceny 3rd and for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended license β¦ The warrant stemmed back to an incident that originally occurred in January of this year where Mr. Moss stole an unattended running motor vehicle from the parking lot of Lantern Park (β¦We keep warning people β¦.but they keep doing it β PLEASE PEOPLE - LOCK THOSE CARS!!!)β¦. Interestingly enough, Mr. Moss eventually was discovered to have stolen the car because on the day the car was stolen it snowedβ¦. Investigating officers McAllister and Burns tracked the βfresh footprintsββ¦ (Again β we canβt make this stuff up!β¦truth is stranger than fiction!!β¦.)β¦ leading to where the stolen car had been parkedβ¦. and guess where they led to??? β¦. Thatβs right, the residence in which Mr. Moss residesβ¦ of course a little bit more investigatory work had to be done on this case to show that there was probable cause to suspect Mr. Moss was the car burglarβ¦. But as we can all see - the arrest warrant was signed and servedβ¦ Oh β the car was located 3 days later in New Haven and was returned to the ownerβ¦ and the evidence in the snow eventually evaporated around June or July!β¦ Man I hope we get an early spring next year!!....
On Wednesday October 28th Officer Jullian located Ms. Mitzi Foti at her residence on Andrew Ave.β¦ Ms. Foti had an active arrest warrant from this agency for larceny 6th stemming back to an incident that originally occurred in August of this year - where the NPD received a call from a victim in Crystal lake Iowa reporting that they had been looking for a rental property on a web site (β¦generally not a bad idea to LOOK on the webβ¦but, keep readingβ¦.) and located a home in Iowa with a phone number from Connecticut listed for the βownersβ(β¦.insert red flag hereβ¦). The victim advised they contacted the number and spoke with a person claiming (key word here was βClaimingββ¦.) to own the home and requested a deposit of several hundred dollars be wired to them (Okay β Ding Ding Ding!!β¦ Red flag should be at full mast hereβ¦) β¦. The victim did so (β¦Very Badβ¦.) and then began to have second thoughts (β¦Which was very goodβ¦)β¦ The victim contacted a relator in Iowa (β¦.Again β very good Ideaβ¦.) and the realtor confirmed that she knew of the property and that it was previously rented for significantly more money and was not owned by someone out of stateβ¦. The NPD further investigated and tied Foti to the crime through several items including video of the wire transaction at the Naugatuck Walmartβ¦. It is unknown if the victims in Iowa actually rented the home after allβ¦.Also unknown if the home was located near a potato fieldβ¦.(sorry β thatβs the best I could do as thatβs only thing I know about Iowaβ¦)
On Friday 11/3/14 the Naugatuck PD contacted our friends at the Waterbury PD and asked them to check out a residence to see if they could locate a Mr. David Alvia in their fine city as Mr. Alvia had an outstanding warrant from the Naugatuck PD for Harassment 2nd . The warrant stemmed from an incident reported in September in which Alvia sent several derogatory text messages to a former girl friendβ¦. Now β know that βderogatoryβ texts went well beyond simple name callingβ¦ the coments were concerning enough to the victim that she feared for her safetyβ¦.and a judge agreedβ¦ resulting in the warrant being issuedβ¦ Our good friends at the Waterbury PD located Mr. Alvia and phoned us back to reserve a room at the NPD Bed & Breakfastβ¦. Mr. Alvia was awarded a complimentary pair of bracelets and a βblack and white limo rideβ to his destinationβ¦. Upon arrival he was booked and charged with a charge of Harassment in the second degree β¦ and shown to one of our finest suitesβ¦
On Tuesday 10/28/14 Officer Field responded to Walmart on a report that the store detectives had a shop lifter in custody (β¦BTW, shopliftings from Walmart are some of my favoritesβ¦)β¦ Upon arriving at the store the store detective explained that he observed Mr. Thomas Gould shopping in the sporting goods sectionβ¦ he observed Gould looking at βBB gun laser sightsβ and that Gould appeared to be βlooking around nervouslyβ (Here comes the red flag again!...) β¦The store detective watch Gould move to the βtools departmentβ (β¦Flag is almost a full mast againβ¦.) β¦ where he observed Gould βstart to open the package while looking aroundβ (Ding Ding Ding β The red flag has made it to the top β¦.again!!)β¦Gould was then observed walking to the front of the store, laser sight in handβ¦. Past all points of purchase (β¦Police Lingo for βhe scooted by the registers!β...) and out the doors β¦where he was approached by the store detective and detainedβ¦. Another nice grab for Walmart!!...Gould was arrested and reservations were made at the NPD B&B β¦.He was charged with 1 count of Larceny 3rd..
On Wednesday 10/29/14 at about 3:37 PM β area police departments received a report of an erratic driver in a βsilver Lexusβ traveling from Wolcott (speaking of Wolcott -Hi Chief Stephensβ¦I know β I Knowβ¦Bangor owes you D-Wordsβ¦. We will be up β Man, he doesnβt let go!!). Officer Baskins located a vehicle that matched the description being operated in Lantern Park and followed it out of the complex where he observed the vehicle being operated erratically. Officer Baskins stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Ms. Patricia Parentiβ¦he also identified her to have βa strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her breathβ (β¦.Police lingo again forβ¦.βsheβs been drinkingβ)β¦. Parenti agreed to do some roadside sobriety testsβ¦which she did not do very wellβ¦and she was placed under arrest and transported to the NPD B&B for processingβ¦. And charged with operating under the influence and failure to signal when changing lanesβ¦.
Okay β thatβs all I have for this week β will be back next week with more βToo Bad Tuesdayβ arrests β¦until then please be safe and donβt forget β we are only a phone call away if you need us!!
