Traffic Stop Leads To Narcotics Arrest In Naugatuck: Police
The suspect is currently on probation of another narcotics case, according to Naugatuck police.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A 27-year-old local man was arrested on narcotics charges Thursday after Naugatuck police pulled him over for having only one license plate on his vehicle, according to authorities.
Ricardo Alcover was pulled over by police at about 4 p.m. near the Exit 28 off-ramp of Route 8 south, after an officer spotted the vehicle with the missing front license plate.
While speaking with Alcover, police "determined that illegal narcotics were potentially concealed within the vehicle," and Naugatuck Police K-9 Officer Judge was called to the scene.

"K9 Judge immediately alerted to the presence of narcotics at the driver side door," police said.
The following items were found in the vehicle and were seized by Naugatuck police:

- 1.3 grams of crack cocaine
- 2 glass crack pipes
- 7.03 ounces of marijuana
- 1 orange EGO digital scale
- 2 cell phones
- $2,357 in U.S. currency
Alcover is currently on probation for a previous arrest in connection with the "possession of 31 Xanax pills and over $1,000 in cash," according to police.
On Thursday, Alcover was charged with the following:
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession with intent to sell marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Failure to display proper number of vehicle registration plates
He was released after posting a $10,000 Surety Bond, and is scheduled to appear in
Waterbury Superior Court on April 13.
