Warner Theatre: Where We Have Been, And Where We Are Headed

The Warner Theatre is entering its 9th month of closure. Yet, we stand hopeful, inspired, and committed to what lies ahead for the arts.

In so many ways it has been an extraordinary year for individuals and institutions alike. The Warner Theatre is entering its 9th month of closure. Yet, we stand hopeful, inspired, and committed to what lies ahead for the arts and for our beloved theatre.

By now you have been asked by many worthy causes and organizations to give, especially those who have been deeply affected by the disruptive nature of this virus. There is no doubt that without support for these causes, our community’s recovery will be longer and more difficult. But as you make your choices this giving season, we ask that you ponder the following:

Click here to follow our journey.
  • The Warner has clarified and renewed its leadership and commitment to rebuilding a vibrant and diverse downtown Torrington that supports the entire region economically.
  • Although our stages have been dark, we have been busy hosting workshops for students, giving them a much needed social and creative outlet and launched the 9th Annual International Playwrights Festival series, streaming free!
  • Over the last several weeks community leaders have come together in a mission to support a renewed vision of the Warner. In just 10 short weeks, we have been able to raise in excess of $1 million, allowing us to cover most of our required operational overhead during this temporary closure ensuring that there will be a Warner Theatre to return to!

For these reasons, to build on our current momentum, and to assure we don’t just “get through this”, but aim to thrive through this, our goal for this annual appeal is $200,000. Please stay with us this season as we serve you, be part of our successes to date, and help us ready ourselves for re-opening. Thank you for your historic stewardship of this special place and joining us on this journey as we reimagine the Warner.
