Waterbury Arts Magnet School Presents ENCORE! Summer Arts Program

Music, Dance, Theatre, Visual and Technical Arts will be explored during the popular Summer Arts Program.

Waterbury, CT, May 15, 2018: - Waterbury Arts Magnet School presents the 2018 ENCORE! Summer Arts Program! July 2nd-13th, (Independence Day observed) for grades 6-12, Classes run from 8:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Parents/guardians must provide prompt transportation for their child. Cost is $125 cash or money orders only made out to the Waterbury Arts Magnet School or WAMS. Forms are to be turned into the WAMS main office to Program Coordinator Holly Gillis.

WAMS ENCORE! Summer Arts Program offers a variety of fine, technical and performance arts courses including 3D Printing, Ceramics, Printmaking, Video Production, Lighting & Sound, Set Design, Costume Design, Makeup Application, Theatre Performance and Theatre Production.

The WAMS ENCORE! Summer Arts Program will be presenting a modified version of a musical as well as sharing their art work for a lobby exhibit! All students interested in performing in the musical will be given the opportunity to audition for acting, singing, and dancing roles in the musical during the first day of the program, and all students that audition will be placed in the show. All students interested in technical and production aspects of the program will be trained for and assigned to roles to assure that the show is fully supported. Students will be in charge of every aspect of production. Students may find themselves designing lighting and installing the design or running the light board during the show. Students could be mixing the mic during production, or costuming the actors. The musical performance and art exhibit will be performed and displayed on the final day of the program.
