Waterbury Man Accused Of Waving Gun In Air While Drunk: PD
Police said the man showed "signs of heavy intoxication."

WATERBURY, CT — Reports of a man waving a firearm in the air on Meriden Road Friday night led to the arrest of a city resident, according to police.
Sgt. Joseph Morais said police charged Jamie Berrios, 38, of Waterbury, with first-degree threatening, carrying a loaded firearm while under the influence of alcohol, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, second-degree breach of peace, unlawful storage of a firearm and interfering with police.
Police were summoned to the 400 block of Meriden Road around 9:53 p.m. on May 22 for reports of a “man waving a firearm in the air,” police said.

There were no reports of any shots being fired, and police did not find any evidence of shots fired either, according to Morais.
Police identified Berrios as the suspect, and pulled his vehicle over. During the traffic stop, officers saw two firearms, a Glock style handgun and revolver, in plain view in Berrios’ vehicle, according to police.

Berrios showed “signs of heavy intoxication” and was uncooperative with officers, police said.
