Waterbury Teen With Gunshot Wounds Checks Self Into Hospital: PD

Police were notified of the incident on Friday, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A 19-year-old city man suffering multiple gunshot wounds checked himself into the hospital late last week, according to police.

Sgt. Joseph Morais said police were notified on Friday around 2:03 a.m. State law requires hospitals to report patient gunshot wounds to law enforcement.

According to police, the victim’s wounds were not considered to be life threatening, and he was listed in stable condition over the weekend.

Police said they believe the shooting was an “isolated matter,” and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
