WATERBURY, CT — Many municipalities have canceled Fourth of July fireworks among concerns about the spread of COVID-19. But Waterbury will go ahead with a more traditional celebration.

Mayor Neil O’Leary’s office recently announced that the city will hold its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Display on Sunday, July 5, at 9:15 p.m., according to WTNH.

To promote social distancing, viewers will be prohibited from viewing the fireworks in the Brass Mill Center Mall parking lots. The city is encouraging spectators to adhere to all social distancing and CDC guidelines, WFSB reported.
