WCSU is participating in state’s automatic admission program,
deadline to apply is Jan. 4, 2024

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University is one of several Connecticut colleges and universities participating in the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP) approved by the Connecticut General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Ned Lamont in 2021. CAAP provides graduating Connecticut high school seniors who meet identified thresholds automatic eligibility upon application to be admitted to participating colleges and universities. The deadline to apply for Connecticut high school seniors who will graduate in spring 2024 is Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024.

The Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system detailed the program in a press release when it was launched in October 2023. Eligibility requirements include that graduating Connecticut high school seniors be in the top 30% of their class, as identified by their individual high school counselors. To apply, students must go to the CAAP website, create a Common App account, and enter specific information. There is no application fee for eligible students. Admission to some programs may require additional student information or demonstrated student success in the first semesters of attendance.
