Weapon, Narcotics Found Inside Car: Naugatuck Police
Two people were arrested by police officers.

NAUGATUCK, CT β A Waterbury woman and a New York man were arrested after police initiated a motor vehicle stop and discovered narcotics and a weapon inside the car, Naugatuck Police said.
On Feb. 12, at 4:45 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the Crosspointe Plaza at 799 NewHaven Road, police said. Through the officer's investigation, Luz Evelyn Martinez, 46, of Plaza Avenue, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, also having a weapon in a motor vehicle, and interfering with the officer's investigation during the stop, police said.
Roger B. Sherwood, 55, of New York was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, and also having a weapon in a motor vehicle during the stop, police said.

They are both charged with illegally possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle. Sherwood is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and Martinez is also charged with interfering with an officer.
