The musical shows how the Hall of Fame musician took on the Mob, the music business, and his own personal demons to become one of the legendary voices of the Rock and Roll era. Of course, the show features all of Dion's hit songs including "Runaround Sue," "I Wonder Why," "Teenager in Love," "The Wanderer," and finally the more contemplative and beautiful "Abraham, Martin & John."

'A Lesson from Aloes' at Hartford Stage

The story was a gripping one, made even more serious by the historical setting. The metaphor of the resilience of the ever-present aloe plants, as scary as they were to Gladys, was not lost on those paying rapt attention. The older matinee audience fell completely silent at important points and I heard raves as we left the theater.

Square Foot Theatre strives to give opportunities to performers who might not otherwise have them, and actively encourages everyone interested in a show to audition for roles in their many productions. Their mission is to offer a non judgemental venue for all ages at all levels of experience, in keeping with the vision of the Jamie A. Hulley Foundation.

'Golden Days of Radio' at Mount Carmel Church

The original musical experience takes us behind the scenes of a 1942 Waterbury radio program; it was written by Waterbury's Dave Gardino.

'Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Kids' by Beacon Falls Youth Theater Group

Erin Moffat, who invited me to the show, was the reason that this theatre group in the world to be included in the Wingman Program.

High school musical theater award time continues this week.
