WestConn to host Open House, Information/Tour Days

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University will host its annual Open House on Sunday, Nov. 3, and prospective undergraduate and graduate students and their families are invited to attend. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and other representatives from WestConn’s academic programs, student groups and administrative offices. There will be a complimentary continental breakfast and tours of both the Midtown and Westside campuses.

Undergraduate Open House takes place in Berkshire Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Registration is required and participants may choose either a 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. check-in time. Register at www.wcsu.edu/openhouse/.

Graduate Open House takes place in the Bill Williams Gym in Berkshire Hall on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Registration is required for the 10:30 a.m. session. Register at www.wcsu.edu/openhouse/.

Additionally, the university will offer “Information Sessions and Tours” for prospective students and their families interested in learning more about the university with a campus tour prior to or after the Nov. 3 Open House. Those events will be:

Saturday, Oct. 12, with Westside campus tour: The Information Session and Tour is an opportunity for students to visit campus and learn more about WestConn and our admissions process. Check-in will be at 10 a.m. or noon in the Campus Center Lobby on the Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. An information session will be given by an Admissions Counselor, followed by a tour of the Westside campus. Register and select a session time at www.wcsu.edu/openhouse/.

Saturday, Oct. 19, with Midtown campus tour.: Check-in will be at 10 a.m. or noon in the Higgins Hall Lobby on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. An information session will be given by an Admissions Counselor, followed by a tour of the Midtown campus. Register and select a session time at www.wcsu.edu/openhouse/.

Saturday, Nov. 16, with Westside campus tour: Check-in will be at 10 a.m. or noon in the Campus Center Lobby on the Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Also, on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Super Sunday. High school juniors and seniors and college transfers interested specifically in theatre design and technology, costumes, stage management and performance will be able to tour WCSU’s state-of-the-art Visual and Performing Arts Center, take workshops with theatre faculty, meet current students, and attend a matinee performance of “Legally Blonde: The Musical.” Register at www.wcsu.edu/theatrearts/super-sunday-at-wcsu/.
