Elm Shakespeare presents RICHARD III, renamed “RICHARD 3, A Fractured Land, A Broken King” at Edgerton Park in New Haven. Free performances run through Sunday. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Celebrate tradition at the 74th Annual São Paio Festival this weekend at the Naugatuck Portuguese Club, 110 Rubber Avenue.

Opening ceremonies are today at 10 am at Naugatuck Town Hall, with food stands, music and dance tonight at the club from 5 pm through midnight. On Saturday, catch the São Paio 5K Road Race, and the festival continues from noon to midnight. The event closes on Sunday with a Community Mass at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Baldwin St., Waterbury, followed by a traditional lunch at Casa Varina Restaurant.
