NAUGATUCK, CT — K-8 schools in Naugatuck have been named among the top 225 in Connecticut, according to a new report by U.S. News & World Report.
The borough's highest ranked school, Hop Brook Elementary School, came in at #140. Maple Hill School was next at #152.
For the inaugural list, U.S. News published rankings and data on more than 80,000 public elementary and middle schools across the United States.

In Connecticut, a total of 848 schools were ranked, 560 elementary and 288 middle schools.
Schools are ranked at the state and district levels. The best charter schools and best magnet schools ranked as stand-alone categories.

U.S. News ranked Booth Free School in Roxbury as the top in Connecticut among K-8 schools, according to the new list.
