Winner Declared In George Logan, Jorge Cabrera Senate Race
Logan and Cabrera had their recount completed this afternoon.
Incumbent GOP State Sen. George Logan has been declared the winner is his recount against Democratic challenger Jorge Cabrera in the 17th District State Senate, according to State Republican leaders, who shared the news on social media Wednesday afternoon.
It appeared on election night that Logan narrowly defeated Cabrera and then last Wednesday Cabrera surged ever-so-slightly in front, according to the Secretary of State's Office.
And on last Thursday, it showed that Logan was back in the lead by 65 votes. A recount was held beginning on Tuesday and it was completed on Wednesday.
