Woman Accused Of Breaking Into Home, Biting Cop, EMT: Naugatuck Police
The accused "entered the residence later claiming it to be a friend's home, and began drinking alcohol from the refrigerator," police said.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A Naugatuck woman is accused of breaking into a home and biting a police officer and an EMT worker, police said. She is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
At 2 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a home on Park Avenue for a possible burglary. During the investigation, police said they learned that a woman, later identified as Ashley Schultz, 21, of Naugatuck, in an "intoxicated state, entered the residence later claiming it to be a friendβs home, and began drinking alcohol from the refrigerator."
The residence sustained damage from Shultzβs forced entry, including damaged doors and windows, police said. Schultz fled prior to the arrival of police but was located a short distance from the scene on foot, police said.

In a news release, police said, "Shultz was uncooperative and combative with officers biting one police officer and later biting a Naugatuck EMS EMT during their efforts to treat her."
Shultz was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and is charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of assault on public safety/emergency services.

None of the emergency personnel sustained serious injured, police said.
