Woman Assaults Police Officer at 66 Church Street: Naugatuck Police

Police said they responded to the restaurant/bar on a report of an unwanted person and the situation escalated.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A woman is accused of striking a police officer while at 66 Church Street, police said.

Police said around 1 a.m. on Nov. 26 officers responded to 66 Church Street for an unwanted person. Shanae Lott, 24, of Morton Road in Waterbury, is accused of trying to re-enter the bar by pushing past staff, police said.

When the police officer arrived on scene he attempted to stop the accused who refused to comply, police said. Lott then struck the officer and was taken into custody, police said.

Lott is charged with assault on a public safety employee and breach of peace. She was released after posting $1,000 bond and given a court date of Dec. 7.
