Woman Forges Prescriptions At Local Pharmacy: Naugatuck PD

The pharmacist said the accused had tried to use forged scripts to obtain a specific amount of a controlled substance, police said.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Bridgeport woman, Melissa Serrano, 24, of Priscilla Street is accused of forging prescriptions in an effort to obtain a "controlled substance" at a local pharmacy, Naugatuck Police said.

On Feb. 28, police were called to Naugatuck Pharmacy at 153 Maple Street for a forgery complaint. The pharmacist said the accused had tried to use forged scripts to obtain a specific amount of a "controlled substance," police said.

Serrano had given fraudulent scripts and information through a doctor's office that was unaware of the transactions, police said. She is charged with conspiracy to obtain a controlled drug-fraud, second-degree forgery and conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery.

She was released on a $1,000 bond.
