Woman Stole Money From Relative's Account: Naugatuck Police

The accused was released on a $15,000 bond, police say.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Waterbury woman, Heather Vazquez, 34, of Everett Street is accused of stealing money from an account of a relative over a period of time, Naugatuck Police said.

Vazquez was arrested on a warrant on Jan. 24, police said. She is charged with third-degree larceny and was released on a $15,000 bond. Her next court date is Feb. 5.

According to state statute, third-degree larceny is defined as a "Class D felony. (a) A person is guilty of larceny in the third degree when he commits larceny, as defined in section 53a-119, and: (1) The property consists of a motor vehicle, the value of which is ten thousand dollars or less; (2) the value of the property or service exceeds two thousand dollars...."
