Torrington Presents the World Trails Film Festival to Showcase Why Trails Matter
TORRINGTON, CT — The World Trails Film Festival will hold its New England public premiere on Tuesday, October 10 at 6:30 pm at the Warner Theatre. Previous locations of the festival have included Lebanon, Greece, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
Tuesday night’s program will showcase seven films, many of them award-winners, coming from South Africa, Taiwan, Bhutan, the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States. Themes of the films include: mental health, hand-made trails, having hope in the face of challenges, wildlife conservation issues, and the power of walking.
“The World Trails Film Festival is made by and for trail-loving communities worldwide and we’re very excited that the City of Torrington is welcoming us for our first-ever New England screening as part of the Connecticut Trails Symposium,” said Jay Simpson, Festival Director of Trails Film. “Presented on the big screen, our films reflect the many ways trails play a vital role in our lives and communities. Trails bind communities together, let us see the beauty of the world, lead us on adventures, and so much more.”
Tickets for the event cost $25 and are available at the Warner Theatre Box Office, by phone at (860) 489-7180 and on warnertheatre.org. All films will include English subtitles.
