From Yale-New Haven Health: This World Cancer Day...
World Cancer Day is a global effort to help prevent countless deaths through public awareness and education about cancer.

World Cancer Day is a global effort to help prevent countless deaths through public awareness and education about cancer. You can help by consulting with your primary care physician to ensure that you are living a healthy lifestyle and staying up-to-date on all of your health screenings. Early detection can be the key that makes a life-saving difference.
Despite our progress, more than 21,000 people in Connecticut will be diagnosed with cancer this year. At Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center, physicians and scientists are working together to discover more about the factors that cause cancers. Progress against one type of cancer is progress against all cancer.
You can help fund world-class cancer research and treatments that can help save the lives of our patients with a gift to the Closer to Free Fund. By supporting Closer to Free, you help us turn innovative ideas into powerful new cancer therapies that patients in our community urgently need. Thank you!
