New Canaan, CT, November 27, 2013 – The Kiwanis Club of New Canaan (http://www.newcanaankiwanis.org) will welcome new police chief, Leon Krolikowski, as speaker at the Club’s annual membership drive luncheon, to be held Wednesday, December 11, from noon to 1:30pm, at the Roger Sherman Inn. Kiwanis would like to invite community members who are interested in making a difference in children’s lives and in the community to stop by as a guest, and to consider becoming a member. The club organizes three to four service projects each year, and provides grants to local non-profits and to outgoing high school seniors. Annual dues are $540 per year ($135 per quarter) which includes two lunches each month at the Roger Sherman. (Their business meeting is held at the New Canaan Library during the first Wednesday of each month.)

Kiwanis International is an international, coeducational service club founded in 1915. The Kiwanis Club of New Canaan, chartered in 1939 with the Norwalk Kiwanis Club as their sponsoring chapter, will celebrate their 75th anniversary in 2014. They’re noted for having the first female member in Connecticut, and welcome everyone to join them.
