The game is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Boyle Stadium in Stamford.

The annual Turkey Bowl football game between New Canaan and Darien high schools is set for 10:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning at Boyle Stadium in Stamford, in what should be - despite the expected frigid temperatures - a hot contest.

Darien enters the game with an undefeated record of 9-0, while New Canaan posts a very respectable frame of 7-2.

The New Canaan Rams are fighting for a spot in the playoffs, writes GameTimeCT.com, while the Darien Blue Wave wants to stay perfect and secure hosting a quarterfinal playoff game at home.

Additionally, Darien wants some payback for being shutout by New Canaan in last year's match-up, 27-0, according to the New Canaan Advertiser. New Canaan leads the head-to-head record of the game over Darien, 58-38-2.

On Wednesday, New Canaan First Selectman Kevin Moynihan told Patch that he has a friendly wager with Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson: If New Canaan wins, Stevenson makes a $100 donation to the New Canaan Athletic Foundation, but if Darien wins, Moynihan will donate $100 to Darien's Department of Human Services.

"I chose the athletic group because its a new non-profit that we're trying to promote," said Moynihan, adding that the foundation is in the midst of obtaining 501(C)3 status.
