Alleged Knife Threat In New Canaan Leads To Arrest: Police

The incident occurred after midnight on Aug. 27.

NEW CANAAN, CT — An alleged altercation over money early Monday at a home on Cross Street in New Canaan led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Ridgefield man on disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening charges, according to New Canaan police.

Rosbel J. Sanchez, of Sylvan Drive, was arrested at the scene at about 1 a.m., and according to police, he allegedly brandished a knife and threatened to stab the victim.

Sanchez was not in possession of a knife when officers arrived, but he allegedly used a knife from the kitchen to threaten the victim.

Additional details about the incident were not disclosed. Sanchez was held in lieu of $5,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 27.
