New Canaan Selectmen To Review Train Station Projects, Event-Related Requests During Upcoming Meeting: Agenda

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Board of Selectmen is scheduled to consider a series of infrastructure and capital improvement items during its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

According to an agenda available on the town website, the meeting will be held in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 8:30 a.m. in a hybrid format.

Among the items listed in the agenda, the board is scheduled to consider two Department of Public Works requests related to local train station projects, including graffiti removal and painting at the Talmadge Hill Train Station, as well as platform deck repairs.

The total costs of the two projects, including contingencies, are listed as $12,000 and $16,200 respectively, according to the agenda.

Board members are also scheduled to review a request from the Department of Public Works to enter into a contract for construction of new concrete ramps and a stairway at the New Canaan Nature Center's education building for a total cost of $80,689.50, according to the agenda.

Several additional public works-related items are listed on the agenda, including a request to increase a previously approved blanket purchase order with O&G Industries in the amount of $15,000, as well as a number of HVAC contract transfers.

The board is also scheduled to consider contracts for emergency tree removal, pruning and stump work of various trees in town, as well as the purchase of replacement trees, according to the agenda.

The board will also consider requests to appoint an interim fire chief and remove an employee from probationary status, according to the agenda.
