Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Melody Libonati: The Summer Theatre of New Canaan (STONC) enriches local communities with a professionally produced theatre experience, providing exciting performances for multigenerational audiences as well as learning opportunities for many of the region’s talented performers and technicians who work alongside professional performers and production staff.
Patch: How long have you been doing business in town, or how long has your organization been around in the community?
Melody Libonati: We started productions in 2004. This is our 23rd season!
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Melody Libonati: I am a professional actor. I started in NYC on Broadway, soap operas, commercials, jingles and voice overs. I have always loved the energy, creativity and collaboration that theatre produces.
Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Melody Libonati: Theatre feeds the soul.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Melody Libonati: Working with talented, creative artists.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Melody Libonati: Our productions are detailed in a "Broadway" style presentation, from our actors to sets, lighting, sound, costumes...we set the bar in regional theatre.
