• 'It's a Movement': New Canaan Parent Support Group Marks 10th Annual Addiction Awareness Vigil on Sept. 1 (newcanaanite.com) — New Canaan families are invited to the 10th annual Community Addiction Awareness Vigil on Sept. 1 at Elm Street and South Avenue, where up to 750 people are expected. The free event features live music, recovery speakers, a candlelight ceremony, and a community pledge, all centered on supporting those affected by addiction. The New Canaan Parent Support Group also meets weekly at St. Mark's for ongoing help.
• Bride Path Lane Colonial Sells for $2.3 Million (newcanaanite.com) — Recent New Canaan property transfers include a 1957 four-bedroom Colonial at 153 Bridle Path Lane that sold for $2.3 million on Aug. 13. Several other high-value homes on Smith Ridge, Silvermine, Oenoke Ridge, and more also changed hands. These sales offer a snapshot of current pricing and demand across town neighborhoods.
• These UConn, Yale and CT high school products are finding their way in the NFL (courant.com) — New Canaan football fans can follow defensive end Zach Allen as he enters his eighth NFL season and fourth with the Denver Broncos after tallying 15.5 sacks over two years. The story also spotlights dozens of other Connecticut college and high school products making their way on NFL rosters this preseason.
