Paving Schedule Announced For New Canaan Roads: DPW

NEW CANAAN, CT — Paving work is planned to begin next week in the area of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, the Department of Public Works announced this week.

The following DPW update was posted to the town website for Thursday, Sept. 3:

South Avenue and Farm Road: Aquarion work has been completed on South Avenue from Harrison Avenue to Farm Road and Farm Road from the New Canaan High School (eastern) driveway to the Saxe Middle School (Farm Road) driveway. Temporary resurfacing of the trenches is complete.

Final paving is planned to begin Saturday, Sept. 12, and be performed over four successive Saturdays, five if conditions warrant. Dates: Sept. 12, 2026, through Oct. 10, 2026.

Road work update for Thursday, Sept. 3:

• South Avenue: OPEN to traffic.
• Farm Road: OPEN to traffic.
• Harrison Avenue: OPEN to traffic.
• Route 106 (Silvermine Road): OPEN to traffic.
