NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Police Commission recently voted unanimously to hire three new police officers, the department announced Wednesday.
According to a news release provided by the department, the commission hired Luke Kryszczynski, 25, of Stamford, Tyler Stiloski, 21, of Montrose, N.Y., and Kyle Stalteri, 27, of Harrison, N.Y., on Sept. 16.
The three new officers will be sworn in during a ceremony scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at the New Canaan Police Department.
"The New Canaan Police Department welcomes officers Stiloski, Kryszczynski and Stalteri and looks forward to their service to the New Canaan community," police said in a release.
According to the police, Stiloski is currently attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he is pursuing a degree in emergency services administration.
He works as a seasonal park ranger in Westchester County, N.Y., and is also employed by Hudson Hills Golf Course. His father, Daryl, is a lieutenant with the Tarrytown Police Department in New York, according to police.
Kryszczynski holds a bachelor's degree in natural resources with a concentration in fisheries and wildlife conservation from the University of Connecticut.
He currently works seasonally as a special conservation officer with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and is also an electrical apprentice, according to police.
Stalteri is a graduate of Harrison High School and has completed college coursework at Springfield College and Westchester Community College.
He works as a custodian for the Harrison Central School District and serves as a youth lacrosse coach, according to police.
