Attorneys Todd Lampert and Philip Toohey Announce a New Partnership with Attorney David J. Rucci.

David J. Rucci has joined Todd Lampert and Philip Toohey as Partner effective April 18. To reflect the new association, the law firm will be known as Lampert, Toohey and Rucci, LLC.

Mr. Rucci was formally a partner with Rucci, Burnham, Carta & Carello, LLP. His practice includes residential and commercial real estate, land use and zoning, business transactions, restaurant organization, probate and not-for-profit law. Mr. Rucci frequently appears before local planning and zoning commissions, zoning boards of appeals, environmental, inland wetlands commissions and numerous other municipal agencies. His practice also encompasses appellate work in zoning matters and representation of minors in probate court hearings.

 “We are very excited that David has joined us. It allows us to expand and strengthen our practice in the areas of real estate, zoning and commercial transactions. David grew up and currently resides in New Canaan giving our firm an increased presence in the area,” Attorney Lampert stated.

Mr. Rucci graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in history and philosophy. He received his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1997. His wife is the former Barbara Bergmans, also a New Canaan native. Barbara runs her own graphic design business, Bruccistudio.com, in New Canaan.  Admitted to practice in Connecticut, he is a member of Connecticut and Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar Associations.  Mr. Rucci is a Board member with the New Canaan Community Foundation and serves on the Sapienza Schloarship Committee. He is a Past President of the New Canaan Rotary Club and is currently on their Board of Directors. He is also a Director of the New Canaan Cemetery Association.  Mr. Rucci is active in coaching his children in the recreational soccer and basketball programs.

Lampert, Toohey and Rucci, LLC was originally founded in 1993 by its managing partner Todd Lampert. Mr. Lampert acts as counsel for businesses and individuals in areas including partnership disputes, employment law, construction and property disputes, bank and business related transactions, matrimonial law, juvenile and youth related issues, property tax appeals, condominium law and general commercial litigation. Other members of the firm specialize in real estate transactions, zoning, estate planning and administration, personal injury and criminal law.

 Mr. Lampert is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York and is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk regional bar association.  He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 with a B.S. in Business and received his Juris Doctor from the University Of Bridgeport School Of Law in 1989. Mr. Lampert lives in New Canaan with his wife, Antoinette and his three children, Justin, Jacqueline and Luc.  He is an active member of the community and devotes his time to numerous organizations and not-for-profit businesses.  Mr. Lampert is a board member of the Stamford Arboretum, acts as pro bono counsel for less fortunate individuals through the Fairfield County Bar Association, and coaches youth sports in New Canaan.  He is also a founder, current corporate secretary and director of the Bank of New Canaan.

Philip J. Toohey, also a founding partner of the firm, specializes in residential and commercial real estate, including new construction transactions for builders and consumer purchasers, banking and business transactions, restaurant development, land use and zoning.   He graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in accounting.  He received his Juris Doctor from University of Bridgeport School of Law in 1988 where he served as Managing Editor of the Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar.  Mr. Toohey is a member of the New Canaan Lions Club, a past president of the Huntington Shelton Exchange Club, and past president and Board Member of Brownson Country Club in Huntington, CT.  Currently, he volunteers as the Assistant Athletic Director at St. Lawrence School in Shelton where he is also a coach for the varsity boys’ basketball and baseball teams.
