New Canaan, CT, August 30, 2012 – The non-profit Outback Teen Center is pleased to announce their grand reopening on Wednesday, September 19. The celebration will conclude with a “splash” at their first-ever Outback Car Wash, to be held Saturday, September 22, in the parking lot outside the facility.

In an attempt to reach and engage more of New Canaan’s youth, the Outback will kick off the school year with new hours, grade-specific programs and events, exciting new technology, and increased community engagement and service.

“We’re really excited to celebrate the Outback’s reopening for the new school year with a car wash,” said Outback Student Governing Board president, Tim Casavant. “The car wash help raise funds for the Outback, will be a lot of fun for the SGB and the new Middle School Youth Board, and will hopefully be a community service, too,” he continued.

Executive Director Susan Serven explained, “The Outback has been closed for a few weeks in order to allow us to clean, paint, and install new equipment. Although this redesign will be continuing into the fall, we wanted to celebrate everything that’s been accomplished to date, specifically through the efforts of the Student Governing Board.”

“We will open Wednesday, September 19, for programming for middle school and high school students, and are available for birthday parties and other rentals, as well. Everyone is invited to visit our web site at www.NewCanaanOutback.org for more info or may contact me at Susan.Serven@NewCanaanOutback.org,” she continued.

Board president Sangeeta Appel noted, “The support we’ve received from the community has been wonderful. We look forward to offering continued enhancements to our facility in order for it to be enjoyed by students and community members for years to come.”
