Annual New Canaan Easter Egg Hunt will be held at NCHS

UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Easter Egg Hunt will be held at New Canaan High School.

The Young Women’s League of New Canaan (YWL) will host The 45th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 1, 2017 with activities beginning at 9:00am at Waveny Park.

The Easter Bunny’s arrival kicks off the festivities, which include family entertainment by the Masqueraders Dixieland Band. Children can enjoy rides on Old Faithful, bounce houses, and face painting.

YWL President Jill Tobin said, “We are so thankful for the generosity of our sponsors for this year’s Egg Hunt. Organizations such as Toddlertime, Ashley Howell Petraska of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services , New Country Porsche of Greenwich, Bankwell and Stamford Hospital are fantastic local partners who are passionate about enriching the lives of people in New Canaan and Fairfield County”.

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures with children courtesy of Christina Saburro Photography. The hunt will start at 10:15 with children collecting over 10,000 eggs and searching for the coveted golden eggs containing gift certificates redeemable at New Canaan Toy Store.

Maia Sapanski, YWL’s Vice President, said “We are so excited to once again bring this long-standing tradition to New Canaan. It’s such a fun event for our children and all proceeds go to our Giving Fund, which will benefit organizations focused on improving the lives of Children. Kids Helping Kids and the Human Services Council Children’s Connection are this year’s Featured Beneficiaries and we are thrilled to showcase them to our community.”

Additional sponsors include New Canaan Pediatric Dentistry, Walter Stewart’s, Prizio Roofing and Siding, Lev, Berlin & Sousa, The Southfield Center for Childhood Development, and Au Pair in America. Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee will donate hundreds of cups of coffee while YWL members and friends bake more than 1,000 cupcakes, cookies, muffins and breads that are available for purchase. Other community partners include Izzi B’s Bakery, Rosie, Fiddleheads Cooking Studio, and the New Canaan High School Student League of Boys (SLOBs).

In the event of inclement weather, the egg hunt will take place on the same day and time at New Canaan High School.
