Auditions for Town Players of New Canaan Holiday Show: Scrooge!

An abbreviated, family-friendly version of the 1992 musical. All the familiar Dickens' characters are featured. Great fun for the family!

Performance Dates: Fri. Dec. 5 & 12 at 8pm; Sat. & Sun. Dec. 6 & 7, 13 & 14 at 2:30pm

Regular rehearsals will begin the week of Oct. 27.


All the characters are familiar and there are both singing and non-singing roles in the show for a mixed cast of 25-30.

Adults: Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Mrs. Cratchit, Mr. Fezziwig, Mrs. Fezziwig, Tom Jenkins (young man-must also move well) & Ghost of Christmas Present (Male)
Children: Kathy Cratchit, Tiny Tim, Peter Cratchit, Cratchit Daughters #’s 1 & 2
Chorus: All Ages: Shoppers, Vendors, Children, 4 Carol Singing Street Urchins

Many of the chorus roles will also be doubling with the smaller speaking roles. The larger crowd scenes will be beefed up with as many singers as possible! Adults, please bring and be prepared to sing one upbeat song. Ken may also ask to hear something from the show. If so, he will teach on the spot. We will be auditioning from sides from the script. Please be familiar with the story.
