Boucher Community Ice Rink Open For 2023-24 Season In New Canaan
The Boucher Community Ice Rink is open for its second season at Waveny Park in New Canaan.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Ice Rink Committee announced this week the opening of the Boucher Community Ice Rink for its second season at Waveny Park.
According to a news release provided by the non-profit organization, the rink opened Dec. 9 and will be open through late February.

The committee said they are hoping to keep the rink open through as late as possible in February, however it will depend on weather conditions. Announcements will be made on Facebook and Instagram to keep folks up to date.

Adult, child and family season passes are available. Please check NCRINK.com for the different rates. We also have special rates for older adults.
New Enhancements
This year the rink is introducing exciting changes to elevate resident's ice-skating experience:
- An expanded warming tent, with large glass windows overlooking the rink.
- Skate rentals will be available for kids up to youth size 5.
- Take advantage of our new skate sharpening service.
- Explore skating lessons (details on NCRINK.com).
- All New Canaan town and NCPS employees skate free in December; employees just need to show their ID at the register and they can skate for free.
Favorites Sticking Around
Some things will remain unchanged:
- Plenty of open skate time for all ages. Please see NCRink.com for hours and rates.
- Complimentary hot chocolate for both skaters and spectators.
- Fun music to skate along with.
Local Excitement
Gene Goodman – the driving force and "spiritual leader" behind the rink – could hardly contain his excitement in getting this next season off to an earlier start than last year's season.
"I'm just happy to make it possible for the community to come together and enjoy themselves on the ice," Goodman said in a news release.
