Don’t wait to sign up for this popular after-school art program led by local teacher “Ms. Tiffany” McKay. This series, we will dive into the world of&nbsp;Cyrus Kabiru. Kabiru is a Kenyan artist best known for creating imaginative wearable sculptures from recycled materials, transforming everyday discarded objects into bold works of art that celebrate creativity, sustainability, and self-expression.
With Mrs. McKay’s guidance, children will dive into the creative process by using different materials to create their own unique piece inspired by Kabiru’s inventive approach. This hands-on experience not only fosters creativity but also teaches valuable lessons in collaboration and artistic expression.
No experience necessary!
– Class is limited to 10 children – Classes involve acrylic paint and other messy materials, so dress accordingly
$185 for Family Level Members per 4-week session / $210 for Non-Members (All supplies included.)

Thornton Wilder’s 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town, is a timeless exploration of the human experience. Set in the fictionalized small town of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, between 1901 and 1913, it follows the daily routines, loves, and tragedies of the Gibbs and Webb families. The play is famously performed with limited stage scenery and almost no props, using pantomime to encourage audiences to focus on the universal themes rather than design. We've selected Our Town for this season to highlight the 250th celebration by focusing on small town America, and specifically "Our Town" of New Canaan.

Join us Saturday mornings for a continuing wellness collaboration between the Carriage Barn and Diane Nickelberg Barnett and yoga instructor Talita Moss. This Gentle Yoga and Sound Bath series will engage both body and mind to help melt away the stresses of the week and start your weekend right!
After a brief opening meditation, we’ll stretch and loosen up with a gentle yoga practice, accompanied by the soft sounds of Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, gongs, drums and more. You’ll then sink into an extended Savasana like no other while you become immersed in the magical sounds of the healing instruments, creating vibrational energy to lull you into a deeply relaxed, meditative state. 
Open to all levels; no experience needed. Please bring a mat and any other props for comfort- blanket, bolster, pillow, eye covering, etc.

Jay Heritage Center

The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is proud to welcome educators to our site during September 2026, Constitution Month, to commemorate our nation’s journey towards independence and democracy. The free program is co-sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council. The event will be the first of many lively conversation about America at 250 with some of our country’s leading history scholars. It is open to teachers throughout the Mid Hudson and Sound Shore communities as well as Fairfield County.
Professors David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman and Beverly Gage will take the stage at the new Wachenheim Center to examine the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. The panel will discuss what the United States and the Constitution have meant to citizens over time and how that vision has changed or stayed constant. &nbsp;The event is FREE but registration is required.
