From Chaotic to Classic, Two Must-See St. Luke’s Musicals
St. Luke's winter musicals will be performed on back-to-back weekends starting 2/23. Free admission and open to the public.
Casts and crews are busy preparing for the two upcoming St. Luke’s winter musicals: Urinetown and The Wizard of Oz. St. Luke’s Upper School will present the satirical musical Urinetown. The show satirizes the legal system, capitalism, populism, bureaucracy, corporate management, and municipal politics. Plungers, pipes, and a stuffed bunny are just part of the chaos in this entertaining and edgy musical.
The following weekend, follow the yellow brick road to the St. Luke's Middle School production of The Wizard of Oz. The cast, which includes a special appearance by the majority of St. Luke’s fifth grade class, will transport you over the rainbow to a land where tin men talk, scarecrows sing, and witches toy with the world as they please. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! You won’t want to miss this classic show.
Urinetown can be seen on Friday, February 23 at 7:00pm and Saturday, February 24 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. The Wizard of Oz will be presented on Friday, March 2 at 7:00pm and Saturday, March 3 at 3:00pm. Both productions will be St. Luke’s Seldin Performing Arts Center at 377 N.Wilton Road, New Canaan. Admission is free and open to the public.
