Checks, EZ Pass Stolen From Mailbox In New Canaan: Police

Police said checks and an EZ Pass, as well as a letter written to the homeowner, were stolen from a mailbox in New Canaan.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Checks and an EZ Pass, as well as a letter written to a homeowner, were stolen from a mailbox in New Canaan last week, according to police.

In a news release, Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski said the mail was reported stolen late Wednesday afternoon from a home on Old Norwalk Road.

The homeowner uses Informed Delivery from the United States Postal Service, which allows residents to preview their mail that is scheduled to arrive, Krolikowski said.

The Informed Delivery stated the homeowner was scheduled to receive two checks and an EZ Pass, both of which were missing from her mailbox, along with a letter someone had written to the homeowner, Krolikowski said.
