CJ First Candle: Committed to Elimination of SIDS and Stillbirths through Research and Education

CJ First Candle: Committed to Elimination of SIDS and Stillbirths through Research and Education

New Canaan, CT, March 16, 2017—“My background is in corporate PR, but when I’m speaking to parents who have experienced the devastating loss of a child within the first few months of life, I’m a SIDS mom first,” said CJ First Candle CEO/Executive Director Alison Jacobson.

Ms. Jacobson recently presented the mission and goals of the nonprofit agency to Kiwanis members, at a recent luncheon at South End in New Canaan.

Originally “First Candle” and “CJ Foundation for SIDS”, the two organizations merged in 2017 to become CJ First Candle. CJ First Candle is committed to the elimination of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and preventable Stillbirths through education and research while providing support for grieving families who have suffered a loss.

The organization works with researchers, supports local organizations, and develops programs and initiatives to educate as many people as possible about safe sleep and healthy pregnancies.

Ms. Jacobson says their objective is clear, “Our driving force is simple – Saving babies. Supporting families.”
